A gesture synth in your DAW
Tamber Gestures is a gesture synth built as a VST3 and AU plugin, so playing with your hands happens inside your session. A webcam tracks your hands: reach into a ring of chords to play them, pinch to sweep a filter, sing through a vocoder with live harmonies, or load your own synths and effects and play those. What you play is recorded in your DAW as audio and automation. It also runs standalone, on Mac and Windows.

- The synthFour oscillators, full ADSR, four LFOs. The chord ring plays it, your hands turn the knobs.
- Vocal modeVocoder or harmonizer, live. Comp, drive, crush, filter, EQ, chorus, delay and reverb behind it.
- Multi effectLoad any plugin. Arm a gesture, move a knob, it’s mapped. One move can drive many.
- MIDI controlIn your DAW it records automation live. In MIDI mode your hands play your hardware and software synths.
How playing it works
Each gesture (right hand up and down, left hand side to side, pinch, double pinch) gives you control over different parameters. Think of it as the ultimate expressive mod wheel.
Play chord presets curated by Tamber musicians, or customize your own. Use one hand to glide through them all, or pinch mode for staccato. Change the size and position of each chord to fit your setup.
Plays the synths you already own
Any instrument on your machine can take the place of the built-in synth, and each effect slot takes a stereo plugin the same way. Make and save presets with your third-party synths and effects, then open them any time from the Gestures presets folder.

Questions
Is it a VST?
Yes. Gestures is a VST3 and AU plugin on Mac and a VST3 plugin on Windows, and it also runs as a standalone app.
How is it different from a browser gesture synth?
Gestures runs inside your DAW, so what you play lands in your session: recorded as audio and automation, through your own synths and effects, and saved with your project.
Which DAWs does it work with?
It loads anywhere as a VST3 or AU plugin (VST3 and AU on Mac, VST3 on Windows): Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio and others. It also runs standalone if you would rather not open a DAW at all.
Does it need good lighting?
It tracks in ordinary room light. A lamp behind you and a dark background are harder for it than a normal desk.
What do I need to run it?
macOS 12 or later, or Windows 10 or later, and a webcam. The one built into your laptop is enough. No controller, gloves or anything to wear.
What does it cost?
Gestures is $99 once, or included in Tamber Pro at $9.99 a month. Your first 7 days of Pro are $1.
