Use your webcam as a MIDI controller
Tamber Gestures turns the webcam you already have into a controller. It tracks your hands and, in MIDI mode, plays your hardware and software synths. Inside your DAW, any hand movement can drive any plugin parameter and is recorded as automation. There is nothing to wear and nothing to calibrate, on Mac and Windows.

- Point your webcam at your handsThe camera in your laptop is the whole rig. Sit so both hands are in frame, in ordinary room light.
- Open GesturesLoad it as a VST3 or AU plugin in your DAW, or run it standalone.
- Choose what your hands playIn MIDI mode your hands play your hardware and software synths. Or load a plugin inside Gestures and play that directly.
- Map by movingArm a gesture, move the control you want, and it’s mapped. One gesture can drive as many parameters as you like.
- RecordIn your DAW, Gestures records automation live: as an instrument, as Gestures Voice (the vocoder plugin) or as an audio effect on any track.
What your hands control
Each gesture (right hand up and down, left hand side to side, pinch, double pinch) controls different parameters, and one gesture can move several at once. Reach into the ring of chords to play notes; pinch to open a filter or throw a delay.

Questions
Do I need a special camera?
No. The webcam built into your laptop works.
Can it play my hardware synths?
Yes. In MIDI mode your hands play your hardware and software synths.
Does it need good lighting?
It tracks in ordinary room light. A lamp behind you and a dark background are harder for it than a normal desk.
Which DAWs does it work with?
It loads anywhere as a VST3 or AU plugin (VST3 and AU on Mac, VST3 on Windows): Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio and others. It also runs standalone if you would rather not open a DAW at all.
Is my camera recorded or uploaded?
No. Hand tracking runs on your computer and the camera video stays on your machine. Nothing is uploaded.
What does it cost?
Gestures is $99 once, or included in Tamber Pro at $9.99 a month. Your first 7 days of Pro are $1.
